Divination is the magical art of discovering the unknown by using different tools or objects. They can help you make difficult decisions and give you guidance for the present and future. More commonly known as fortune telling, divination has been going on for thousands of years starting before recorded history. We humans have always curiously been searching for a glimpse of the future. There are far too many techniques to list here but the mains ones I will talk about.
Tarot cards are one of the most well known tools for divination. There true origins remain obscure but they have been around for hundreds of years. They come in many packs these ays but the standard tarot deck consists of two groups of cards, the 22 Major Arcana are picture cards each with their own meaning. Then there is the Minor Arcana group which has 56 cards The 22 Major Arcana cards are numbered from I through XXI, but one card is unnumbered, the Fool. The 56 Minor Arcana are grouped into 4 suits which are known by different names. Wands, batons, or clubs are related to the fire element which means creativity, action and movement. Coins or Pentacles as they are also known is related to the Earth element meaning practicality, security and material concerns. Swords are to do with the air and our thoughts, intellect and reason. Cups or hearts are a water element and are to do with matters of the heart or emotions.
Tarots can be precise and give you time scales. As each card has a separate meaning you can get very good readings just by laying 3 or 4 cards. I have used tarot cards for many years and still surprise myself at how accurate they are. The best way to test them is to write down any readings you have. Put them in your diary and look back on them as the months go on. I have stopped doing this now but in the past it was just a question of when to tick the events off rather than if.
Another popular form of divination is looking at the stars and planets. Celestial beings have been used for divination by astrologers for thousands of years. Astrology is the study of the patterns and relationships of the planets in motion. It is a great tool for self discovery and understanding about any seemly meaningless events in our lives. To have a personal birth chart done you will need your date time and place of birth as this will give astrologers a sort of unique finger print of you.
Other techniques include tea leaf reading, mirror crystal or water scrying, runes, numerology and palmistry to name a few. You could try them all or just choose one that you feel drawn too. Be open to the idea though. Used wisely using divination techniques can really have a positive impact on your life.
