subject: Major Role Of Brake Parts [print this page]

If you have your own motor vehicle, then you should know the importance for keeping the vehicle in good condition. Your vehicle has so many parts that you cannot even imagine. Being a responsible and sensible drive, you should have knowledge and information about the parts of your vehicle. In this way, you will keep it in perfect condition, which in return will give you safe and smooth drive. A part from all the parts, the parts of braking system is the most important ones. Every automobile has its own braking system, which depends upon its driving capacity. A braking system is comprised of a number of parts including brake shoes, pads, calipers, discs, rotors and a number of other parts, which works together, in order to make the complete assembly line functional.

If you talk about the most important and essential brake parts, then you will come to know that brake calipers are the most significant ones. They are for increasing the ability of reducing the speed of your car and to stop it. Mostly, the cars of this modern era have brake discs in their front wheels, but you will also come across by such cars, buses and trucks, which have brake discs in their rear wheels. In all the cars, which have disc brake system installed in them, their wheels are attached and fixed to the metal rotors. And then they keep on spinning along with wheels.

The main purpose of brake calipers is to create friction, so that the wheels get stop. If you will look into the positioning of these calipers, then you are going to see that they are fitted just like a clamp over the rotors. Inside each and every caliper, a pair of metallic plates is founded, which is attached with friction elements that are known as brake pads.

The working and functioning of brake pads is to actually work against rotors, in order to stop them. When a drive steps on brake, the fluid creates and build hydraulic pressure on the pistons of brake calipers, which resultantly exerts force on the pad thus the rotors are stopped. The surface of calipers is made up of such material, which helps in increasing the friction, when the driver needs to stop the rotation of the wheels. It shows you the constant working and functioning of brake parts. You can now fairly get an idea about the importance of these parts. And the needs to keep close check on their efficiency.
