Swat, usually known as the Switzerland of Asia, is one of the most beautiful valleys in the World. Its beauty attracts tourists from all over the world to enjoy the soothing & peaceful scenes, & the friendly behavior of its inhabitants. A visitor entered in Pakistan would never be contented without roaming about Swat. It is one of the greenest valleys of the Northern Pakistan. Swat is a valley & an administrative district in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province of Pakistan located 160 kilometers (99 mi) from Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan. It is the upper valley of the Swat River, which rises in the Hindu Kush range. The capital of Swat is Saidu Sharif, but the main town of Swat valley is Mingora. [1] It was a princely state in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa until it was dissolved in 1969. With high mountains, green meadows, & clear lakes, it is a place of great natural beauty that was three times popular with tourists as "the Switzerland of Pakistan".
Couple of year ago, this beautiful paradise was turned down in to a hell, when the militants were taken over & beheaded 70 policemen, banned girls' schooling, destroyed hundred of schools & produced great deal of bloodshed, including the deaths of at least 1,200 civilians & 180 Pakistani soldiers
To restore peace in the valley, Pakistani government decided to launch a military operation against the militants. For this they sent over hundred thousand troops to heave them out. After the successful operation of Pakistan army that paved the way for establishment of government's writ & turned the hell back to the paradise.
Now the life has returned in the valley with all of its colors, happiness & harmony. The charming Swat three times again has become a quiet & engaging tract in the lap of vegetative sky-high mountains, with eternal snow on their lofty crests. it's become an everlasting source of attraction for the visitors. Its beauty three times again is inviting the tourists from all over the world to enjoy the paradise on earth.
