We all know that the NFL is a huge deal. We also know that college football is just as important and that it serves as a prerequisite for the National Football League. But some states take it a step further and train their high school athletes as if they are at college level. Some states feel so strongly about football that entire towns close down in the event of a rival high school football game. Air hockey tables are inexistent and full length football fields is where its at. There are some US States that take football to a whole other level, from pre-school all the way to the Pros. Texas- The Alamo State:

The state of Texas is by far the most hardcore state when it comes to high school football. I mean really, how many football movies can you name that you know took place in Texas. I can name many that depict football as a staple activity in almost all young males lives. In fact, it is uncommon to see Texas portrayed without the mention of this sport. Remember Varsity Blues, Dazed and Confused, and Friday Night Lights? Yup, all set in Texas and often times variations of real life events. There is no doubt about it, Texas is the number one state when it comes to high school football. There are countless numbers of Pros, college stars, and up and coming high school phenomenons that got their start in the state of Texas from diaper days to marriage, and everywhere in between. Alabama- The Yellowhammer State:

Alabama is another southern state that is pretty hardcore when it comes to football. Look at the MTV reality show Two-A-Days for example. They train their athletes with the same goal in mind, sending most of their high school graduates directly to the NFL. Other states that come to mind as far as great football athletes are the Carolinas, Virginia, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. To these states, football rules all, even at the high school level.About the Author:
