subject: Utah Barter Gaining Popularity [print this page]

Utah barter is a long tradition, going back to pioneer times. We are continuing to see more and more businesses here in Utah starting new accounts.

Here's why:

-Barter is a great way to cut down on overhead. If you can trade for business expenses, you save that much more in cash.

-It's a way to help you stay busy, sell additional services, materials, or products that isn't selling as fast as you want.

-Barter is also a great way to find new customers. You don't have to offer all of your products or services as barter deals, so this can increase cash revenue as well as give you barter dollars.

Why using a trade exchange makes sense

In the old Utah barter days farmers traded for services, store-bought goods, and produce from other farmers. As you can imagine, this could often be quite time-consuming. Multiply that out and think of what we have today, in the form of much much bigger inventories of products and thousands of services you could trade for. What are the odds that you will find the one person who wants your product and can give you exactly what you need? Or that they will be worth about the same?

A trade exchange is basically an alternate form of payment. You sell or buy using trade dollars. This makes it simple in the case of selling one large item and then buying many smaller ones, or vice versa. It makes it possible to easily find what you need, and sell what you have.

ITEX is the largest and best trade network in the world, with offices in every state as well as in Canada (of course, I'm biased as I am a broker for ITEX). Some ITEX benefits:

-Ability to list services or products, so they can be found in our directory easily.

-Ability to search this directory to find what you need.

-Helpful, responsive brokers. My job is to connect members and help them get more done, and to connect to the best deals for them.

Is barter right for you? Give us a call, we would love to help you explore the options.
