USCIS (United States Citizenship and Immigration Services) is the government agency that controls and oversees the lawful immigration to the United States. It enforces the immigration laws which includes the work permit and border control and also administers the benefits of naturalization. The main purpose of USCIS is to identify and remove criminal aliens from the United States and handle naturalization laws.

Form I 131 If you are not a U.S. citizen, then you need permission to return to the United States after your travel abroad. This permission to return without any hindrance to United States is granted through a travel document. The form I 131 is used for this purpose. It is used to apply for a travel document, re-entry permit, refugee travel document or advance parole or to include parole into the United States for humanitarian reasons.

Form I 864 - This form I 864 is used by family-based immigrants and by employment-based immigrants to prove that the applicants have adequate financial support and that they will not become a public charge.

Form I 765 People who are temporarily in the United States and who are eligible to work in the United States must apply for a work permit. These must people must file this form I 765 to request an employment authorization document.

Based on the type of the USCIS immigration form filed, the process and the waiting time is determined. If the petition is filed within United States, all application must be filed with USCIS. If the petition if filed outside United States, then the applicants must go through the Consular Processing.
