The HP LaserJet 4300 is the third in a series of monochrome lasers from HP that has progressed in speed by an astonishing ten pages per minute throughout the series, starting with the HP LaserJet 4100 at 25 pages per minute, then moving on to the HP LaserJet 4200 at 35 pages per minute, and resulting in the HP LaserJet 4300s 45 pages per minute speed. Increased speed, with the help of a highly beefed up processor, are just a couple of the new and improved features found in this incredibly efficient model.

With its 350 MHz processor ranking it a full 100 MHz above that of the HP LaserJet 4100, the HP LaserJet 4300 soars through large workloads in no time. The unit was also designed specifically for extremely high output and, as such, is equipped with a 200,000 page maximum monthly duty cycle. With this much leniency given on overall output, the 4300 would be perfect for an office network. HP offers a network expansion option, and also various upgraded versions of the model that are network ready right out of the box.

With an unmatched number of six possible variants on the HP LaserJet 4300 hardware, users can easily select the model that best suits their needs without having to worry about installing upgrade hardware. The standard HP LaserJet 4300n matches the base model on most levels, but includes a Jetdirect 10/100 Base TX print server card, plus a boost in RAM of 16 MBs.

All other upgraded models include Jetdirect, while the HP LaserJet 4300tn also includes an additional 500 sheet tray, and the HP LaserJet 4300dtn includes both the additional paper storage tray and a built in external duplexor as well, allowing for automatic double sided printing. Two other models offer the choice between a 500 sheet stapler stacker hardware accessory and a standard stacker for organizing output mechanically.

All models operate with HPs Instant On fuser technology that reduces warm up time to virtually zero, as well as assists in keeping the devices first page out time to a mere 8.5 seconds. Quality runs high with the unit, and is selectable at resolutions up to 1200 x 1200 dots per inch. Lower quality levels are also optional for faster output, and toner saver modes can help reduce overall ink usage, therefore cutting costs.

Also helpful in cost reduction is the duplexor option, which can not only reduce paper usage by as much as half, but add a professional, two sided look to brochures and documents. The base model HP LaserJet 4300 includes only a single 500 sheet standard paper tray, but also offers a fold out 100 sheet priority feed slot for multiple media types, bringing the units overall paper storage capacity to 600 (1,100 for the upgraded models).

With so many hardware expansion options available, the HP LaserJet 4300 could potentially be expanded to hold a very outstanding 2,600 total sheets. Incredible speed complemented by noteworthy expansion options makes the LaserJet 4300 one of the more versatile machines on the market.
