subject: College Life: Handling Stress While In College Part 2 [print this page]

Most college students find their college life stressful. It is not possible to change the fact that college life is stressful; however, whether or not to be stressed under such conditions is definitely in your hands. This is part 2 of a two-part article that provides tips on handling stress.

Stress Management Tip #6:

Do you have a social life? Or are you so much into books that you have forgotten your roommate's face? If you have been doing too much of studying and homework, maybe it's time to get out and spend some hours with your friends. Go for a movie or for dancing or perhaps just hang around somewhere with your friends, relaxing and letting go of your tensions for a while.

Stress Management Tip #7:

Plan some fun moments during the day. This could mean hanging out with your friends, chatting with them or having dinner together. If everyone else is also working, spending a few moments in between to relax and enjoy can be relieving not only for you but also for others who would only be thankful when they return back to their work with a refreshed mood.

Stress Management Tip #8:

Hold a mirror in front of you and then bring it very close till everything becomes blur. That's how you are looking at your situation when you are stressed. You need to take the mirror at a considerable distance before you will be able to see things clearly. Take a step back and see what is causing your stress and then work upon it accordingly. Do not hesitate to ask for help if required. This will help you regain your sense of normality and get back with a better frame of mind.
