Are you an introvert or do you like to be surrounded by people all the time? What kind of people? These are questions that may be worth thinking about. A college is a place where you could meet up with a friend with whom you share a life-long friendship. People you meet in the college might not be all about fun but it could also make a difference in your studies. They could help you with guidance and tips. So whether you are introvert or extrovert, making sure you are surrounded by the kind of people you would like to be with could make a difference to your college life.

This is part 6 of the series that explains the basic criteria to be considered when selecting a college. This article discusses the type of students in the college that match up with your needs and expectations.

Ability to express your personality

One of the most important factors in any college would be the ability to express yourself freely. If you think that pink hair is the in thing, then wouldnt you want to be allowed to do that? Likewise, if you are classy, then your obvious choice would be a college with classy people. A college that allows you to be you is the one that will bring out your personality.

Gender

If you are the shy types, you may want to check out men-only or women-only colleges. Co-ed colleges are plenty but some colleges may lean towards one of the genders rather than being equal. Check your preferences regarding the same.

Diverse culture

If you like to learn about other cultures, then the college could be your best chance to meet up with people from diverse culture.

If it matters what kind of people you meet up, not just from personal perspective but also from professional perspective, then it might be important for you to check out the student body in your shortlisted college.
