subject: Marriage Is More Than Blissful [print this page]

When someone gets engaged it is one of the most exciting times in people's lives. There are the rings, the wedding dress, the wedding, the reception, making a new start with someone you love and you would be hard pressed to find someone who isn't excited that is engaged. Often times you will see the bride and the groom being on their best behavior for each other and hoping for marriage bliss. Even when people give marriage advice it is easy for the engaged couple to brush it off figuring that they are exempt from any marriage challenges that could possibly come.

Then you get married, both go back to work, to school and real life hits. It might not hit for a little while, but eventually the stress of paying the bills and raising children or not being able to have children start to hit. There could also be the challenges of merging the personalities of families. All of these things start to mount and some couples start to forego going out on dates and taking care of their marriage.

All of a sudden couples are starting to grow apart and the marriage bliss is gone. For some they start to turn to friends and co-workers instead of their spouses. That can become a big stress on the marriage and eventually you start to realize that divorce could be happening. For some they realize that things are turning sour and they don't want to lose their marriage and they look at their options of stopping a potential divorce.

If couples are really in love the first step to preventing a divorce is recognizing that they have to protect their marriage every day. It doesn't have to be a lot, but a little bit can go a long ways when it is frequent. There are several things you can do for marriage enrichment and one of the top things is going on a weekly date.

If it is past this and heading for divorce you can reach out for help. There are people who are trained to help marriages recover and heal through different challenges especially if it is just growing apart due to the stresses of life. Remember that at one time you were blissfully in love and you might not want to lose that permanently.

If you are past this and recognize that divorce is inevitable you have to realize that there is still a very hard road ahead. You might need help to heal from the divorce and to be able to move on with your life. What is most important is to recognize that there is help for your marriage or after divorce.
