subject: Foreclosure Negligence Creates Major Hindrances For Neighboring Localities [print this page]

Foreclosures are an important component ruling the recession scenario in Bay region counties. The maintenance of such properties is an issue of concern for many and for the neighbors these properties are literally nothing but more trouble.

In Citrus County the conditions of the residents in one foreclosure prone areas is made all the more difficult due to the fact that this abandoned house has added to dirt and diseases in the locality mainly due to dead rats etc.

Despite attempts from the neighbors to keep the lawn at least clean they can hardly do any thing about the stinks polluting the air due to dead rats and insects in the house. Few neighbors have even tried building fences through plants so that they can avoid seeing the dirty exteriors of the house.

The neighbors try their best to keep the house presentable from outside as its dirty appearance also affects the appearance of their houses and their locality as well.

Unfortunately this house with an extended backyard is also having a pool which now has only green water and is adding to the risk of spreading more dirt and disease as this pool is now a potent ground for increment in mosquito population and moreover, there is no one to clean up this mess and make it look presentable.

The property agent Richard Venticinque finds it highly difficult to display this house to buyers let alone attempting to sell it. In fact its quite difficult to impose such an ill maintained house on the buyers just because it has to be sold or auctioned to redeem the mortgaged amount.

According to Richard Venticinque, the presence of an abandoned house in the Citrus Springs locality is nothing new but the objectionable aspect is the ill maintenance of the house. Richard Venticinque also emphasizes on the fact that the maintenance of the mortgaged and abandoned houses solely depends on the banks or financial agencies owning the house and hence they are responsible entirely for keeping the house clean.

In fact, its not the concern of the locality and the neighbors to ensure the maintenance of the house but in Citrus County the neighbors had to take charge of the situation as the negligence of the bank was ruining the ambience of the locality and poisoning the environment as well.

The property agents and the residents are strongly expecting for the officers of the county to formulate some strategies for the proper maintenance of the house and to find out suitable owners for such abandoned houses so that maintaining these properties doesnt become an added responsibility for the local residents.
