subject: Tanning Beds, The Dilemma Of Old Or New Tanning Beds! [print this page]

Tanning beds are the in thing today! Everyone wants to tan and the salons I guess are booked out due to people wanting to tan. Many people are migrating to buying a tanning bed for home use. There are many advantages to this, however people just need to make the decision whether to buy pre-owned or new tanning beds.

Buying a tanning bed should receive the same attention and due diligence as when buying a new or second hand car. Just as you can buy a lemon when buying a car the same can apply to buying a second hand tanning bed.

I always ask myself when buying second hand, " why is this item being sold?" Parts many be hard to obtain, earlier models have unsafe light bulbs that emit unsafe ultra violet rays. If this is the case you may as well go and lie on the beach in direct sunlight. Today tanning beds have safer bulbs that do not emit harmful rays quite to the extent that the older models do.

With new models they have at least a one year warranty. Often the second hand ones do not have warranties and they are more likely to play up and cause more problems than you need. If there are some faulty working parts on the item then it could very well be that other parts are soon going to let you down as well. You do not want buy a problem you want to buy peace of mind.

If you do home work properly then you may be able to get yourself a great deal. Be cautious, Always ask why is it being sold.

New beds have all the up to date safety features and that alone is for me a big selling point. You cannot put a price on your safety and your health. Most new beds carry a one year guarantee this will most probably not be the case with second hand models.

The amount of joy that tanning beds can bring to you is priceless for the entire family. Always apply common sense so that you do not burn your fingers so to speak..

By purchasing yourself a home tanning bed you will save yourself a whole pile of money assuming you intend to tan regularly. The costs of transport and fees at the tanning salon will quickly be absorbed by buying a home bed either new or second hand.

There is no waiting for delivery should you decide on pre-owned. You can take it home with you once you have seen it and obviously paid for it.

If I was to buy second hand I would buy from someone who is moving or from a tanning salon that is closing their business. If the business is being closed due to going bust then probably means that the beds have not been over used.

Before buying second hand ensure that you have some knowledge about tanning beds, if not you are certain to be conned out of your money.

The debate continues, new tanning beds or second hand. It is your decision. Just remember to always apply common sense so that you get the best deal.
