My friend Anna called me that she had something important to tell me. I was thinking if she got anotherGHD straighteners sales (she is obsessed with GHD)or threw a month salary on a Tiffany jewlery, or to say, she had some "great news", you know, gossips or rumors to tell me. Whatever, when I reached the restaurant we used to go, I was surprised to find that she had arrived, with a faraway and throughtful look. "Hey, honey! Do you know what happened this morning?" "Hum, you got your dreamed pink GHD hair straightener with big discount?" "Try again." "Lily broke up with her boyfriend you hate?" "Oh, no, not that, come on! Actually,I met someone and he said he fell in love with me and asked me out. You know, a really handsome guy, a bit cute. I even doubt that he is not for real. Anyway, my heart was beating heavily when he popped the words." "Wow, it is good news. I am so happy for you. You always want to have a cute boyfriend and now you have made your dream come true. Should not we celebrate? And when are you going to introduce him to me, I am so curious that I could not wait to see him." "Actually, you are not going to meet him." "Oh, please, you can not be so mean." "Funny, the thing is I turned him down." "What? Are you out of your mind? You turned down a cute guy?" "No, I could not be more rational when I said no to his request, you know he is a drop out, he did not finish his high school." "So, that is the problem?" "Yes, that is the problem; I can not be with someone who is not well educated. What am I supposed to talk with him if we were together? We have nothing in common." "I know you guys are living in different world, you graduated from Stanford, and you were outstanding in that school, but do you really care so much about his social status?" "You know what, I do." "Well, I don't have anything to say now. Anyway I will stand by you no matter what kind of decision you make." "Oh, sweetie, thank you!" I think she must be bit upset, or she would not be so anxious to tell me. But I can't help thinking if I were her, what will I do? Do social class and education background count? I am totally confused. If you were her, what is your decision? About the Author:
