subject: The Unfortunate Polygraph Testing Ohio [print this page] Lying. Some of us are good at it, and others of us, are bad at it. Then, there are those of us who simply look like liars even when we tell the truth. What are we to do? The named "lie radar" began sometime in the "roaring" twenties of the twentieth century. People were told that if they told a lie, this device would tell on them. The unfortunate Polygraph Testing Ohio is not all it is cracked up to be.
Since, the inception of our births, we are beings of nature. With that nature we try to work our way out of being caught doing something wrong. Catch a little child taking a cookie from the cookie jar, and you may see the thoughts of deceiving working in his head. He may tell you that he was not taking a cookie but, trying to see how many cookies were there so, that he could have one after dinner. Yes, a perfect example of deceiving in the making. This does not make a person a devil when he gets older and is trying to get a job.
This examination records the amount of sweat, the number of heartbeats, the amount of breaths, and how high your blood pressure gets when you are asked certain types of questions. High security jobs, like those with the government and policing authorities, usually administer these tests, to "weed out" those who may be a liability. If this test deems you a liar, you will not get a job with these institutions.
Indicators (about 6 of them) are linked to you and the machine. The chest, the butt, a few fingers, and a cuff to measure the pressure in your blood, are the usual links between you and the machine. Before the actual test is given, a group of interrogatories are asked to determine how your body will do during the actual testing. Experts explain that this is the way an examiner can tell if an individual is telling a lie.
A few words here, please. The polygraph is neither a lie detector, nor a truth teller. It simply measures certain changes in your body chemistry. Many people are nervous, no matter what they go through in life. For some reason, they immediately fear new experiences and circumstances. Do you realize that these individuals would be called liars if they took one of these tests?
Several "professionals" swear that these devices can be trusted completely. But, what makes their words gospel? We only know exactly what they tell us. We believe them because they are supposed to be the professionals. So, who discerns if they are telling us the truth or not? Remember that Hitler stated if a lie is told long enough and loud enough, it will eventually be believed?
It is never right to make a person suffer for something they never did. Why would any person want to bestow that kind of pain on anyone? We claim that there is liberty yet, we want to trust a device to sometimes decide the fate of another human being. We should have to see how life is through their eyes. Ponder how you would feel if falsely accused at the whim of a machine.
