subject: Scuola Ulisse 2010 Italian Language Scholarships [print this page] The school offers courses for students at all levels, from beginners wishing to learn the basics of a new language to more advanced students who want to develop and refine their language skills. Trained in modern techniques of teaching Italian as a second language, our teachers tailor their lessons to the needs of each student, and create a lively atmosphere for learning.
Our courses vary also according to class size and duration. As regards class size, students can choose between classes of 6 -10 students, smaller group classes of 3-5 students, and personal one-to-one classes. Regarding course duration, a standard course lasts three weeks, and consists of 45 contact hours, while a plus course lasts three weeks, and consists of 60 contact hours.
Students abilities will first be assessed in a pre-course placement test. At the end of the course, students progress will be evaluated and certified in a test, conforming to the standards of the Common European Framework which measures students levels from beginner, A1 and A2, to intermediate, B1 and B2, and advanced, C1 and C2.
Students in groups are also encouraged to participate in the free extra-curricular activities which the school organizes, with the aim of stimulating language learning and socialization through participating in the citys various cultural events.
