Life is somewhat slower paced on Lanai, there aren't any traffic lights and it is excellent if you would like privacy and a more casual vacation than you find on Oahu. Lanai also features two excellent golf courses.
And then we come to Maui, the second largest Hawaiian island. This island is located in the middle of the humpback whale migration route, so it's exceptional for whale watching at the right time of year during the winter season. The beaches here are outstanding, and the first choice for many people wanting a peaceful beach vacation.
The Big Island of Hawaii is certainly that - big. The island possesses more land area than all of the other islands combined. Of the thirteen climatic zones which are on earth, eleven are found here. On Hawaii's Big Island is an active volcano, sandy beaches and snow covered mountains.
