subject: Characteristics Of An Entrepreneur: What Separates Good From Great? [print this page]

What are the characteristics of an entrepreneur? For some reason when people think of the word entrepreneur, it seems almost untouchable, like a mystical unicorn. But let's call the first step what the first step is: a home based entrepreneur. Sounds a little more cozy, not as much pressure. And, that is where all the greats started, whether a garage or basement.

The real difference between ANY entrepreneur and the next person is as simple as having the guts to go for it. The guts to sacrifice some time and some money to get what they wanted in life. Some have the gift to be able to do that right out of the gates, and for others it takes a while. However, the difference always comes down to action.

If you have that entrepreneurial bug (almost a 100% chance that you do if you are reading this), then only thing that is keeping you from your dream is you. The most important thing is to get the ball rolling, because it is hard to stop once it does.

However, you do have to be tactful while you are taking action. The road is definitely uncertain, otherwise it would just be "the way." Giving yourself the best opportunity for success by leveraging your time while reducing your operational costs is a great combination. There is only one place to do that.

An entrepreneur is savvy enough to know that he/she needs to make profit as soon as they possibly can for the best chance at survival. Low start-up costs and high margin items are the way to go.

There are models like this now available because of the Internet. The phrase may shock some people, but can you think of a faster way to spread information than the web? Or a net that is cast as wide?

So, a home based entrepreneur is someone who makes quick decisions when an opportunity comes in front of them that offers an excellent chance at success.... and they they devote everything they have to it - as if their life depended on it. There will be a day you regret not going for it, unless you have the characteristics of an entrepreneur.
