The Beautifying Effects of a Milk Bath for Your Skin

Pure milk in its natural form has been used for centuries as a beautifying skin ingredient. The key is the lactic acid found in milk which works as a gentle exfoliant to help dissolve dead skin cells buffing away flakiness to reveal a fresh layer of glowing skin.

The milk's lactic acid is a form of natural alpha hydroxy acid (AHA). Unlike conventional products containing the AHA ingredients (normally 5 - 15% concentration) which may strip your skin and cause irritation and redness, the milk's AHA is ultra gentle working to soothe, moisturise and exfoliate at the same time. The high fat content in milk means that it is excellent use for those with dry skin.

Milk products come in many forms. They come as a milk cleanser, milk bath, milk soap, milk wash, milk serums, milk lotions.. etc. Basically, any skin care product you can think of can be derived from milk. The most effective forms of milk products come in its natural liquid form state such as the milk cleanser or milk baths.

Indulging in a milk bath is simple, but can be quite costly. Just go to your local supermarket and grab yourself 100 Litres of milk (depending on your bath size) and pour the milk into your bath. Heat up half of the milk in a big pot and mix it together to create the perfect bathing temperature for dipping. It's a real treat to immerse yourself in a full body of milk and you'll come out glowing. But it is a waste of perfectly drinkable milk and it's not something I'd recommend!

If you are really interested in a milk bath, then the more cost effective alternative is using a milk bath powder. Fill your bath with water, and add your milk powder. Simple, easy and relaxing.
