Tile works well in high traffic areas like entry ways and kitchens and bathrooms. It is a little hard underfoot for standing on, but thick area rugs make it wonderful. Areas like family rooms and bedrooms carpet is warm, cozy and comfortable. We had wood floors in our children's room and after a year we covered them with carpet. The wood was cold and very dusty. Behind and under the beds was a constant fight. Some people like wood in the kitchen, just be really careful of water damage from leaky ice makers and such.
New paint livens up any home; new carpet gives your home a fresh, new feeling. It is amazing what gets trapped below the carpet, especially if you visit the beach very often. San Diego is a beautiful place to live. The vegetation is second to none, make the inside of your home match the outside with beautiful earthy tones and elegant cabinets, counter tops and bathrooms. Spring is here, it is time to get busy and make our homes a place to be proud of and a place where friends and family want to congregate.
