subject: Are They Over Their Ex Yet? [print this page]

Have you ever found the one you thought was the one for you only to feel like there is more then the two of you in the room? Are they still talking by Internet or even by phone or do they talk about them all of the time? When they get mad at something is this ex's name brought into the conversion? If this happens to be the case your partner might not be completely over them. You will have to walk on very thin ice when dealing with someone that is in this situation. You might find yourself fighting with this other person's ghost. You might even try to be just like them or even nothing like them. Either way you probably will end up losing.

If with your situation they might have had a child or two together then it will be hard to get away from this ex. This situation will make it harder for you both as there will be no way around them. You both will have to learn to deal with this problem together. No matter what never try to deal with this by yourself. If this ex comes to you about something that you feel is not someone you should be talking about simply tell them so. You should just tell them to go and talk to you new boy or girlfriend and if you do tell it to your mate that you did so.

It might be wise to watch for signs that you will have problems. If you see them ahead of time you might be able to deal with this problem. Your first love is usually the hardest one to shake when something happens with them. If this happens because of say death you might find that you have a problem that might take some time for them to shake. They will need time to heal mentally and you need to be ready to help them through it. If this takes more time then you think is normal then you might have to ask them to go and get some professional help.

If you find that this person is still around and your other half can not seem to let go then you might have to back off or have them talk to you about this ex so that it is out in the open where you can discuss what to do in regards to them. Once this is out in the open you can figure out how to deal with this problem so much easier.
