Yoga and Psychic Readings
Yoga and Psychic Readings

I used to teach yoga for a living. Now I do psychic readings for a living. Here is some of my yoga journey I wish to share with you. Around nine years ago I completed a grueling two year yoga teacher training course. It involved hatha classes 4 to 6 times each week, a weekly esoteric study circle, and much teaching of groups of people in the various postures and asanas.

Ups and Downs

It had benefits and a downside. I'll start with the downside so I can finish with the benefits. One of the many things I see among yoga teachers, readers, naturapaths, in fact any and all therapies is the ego trap. This means many therapists are not able to climb out of the ego hole they have dug for themselves.

Ego Traps

Instead of working together and helping each other the ego separates itself from others making it feel more "special" or "higher". Its very alluring. You do all this training for months on end and you do gain a lot of specialized knowledge in one specific area. This pumps the ego up making it think it is better and more "developed" than anyone else. In fact the opposite is the case. True spirituality has no place for putting yourself higher on the ladder or on the ego trip many therapists amuse themselves with.

Wounded Healer

I've had naturapaths tell me eating healthy food is more important than exercise.I've had energy healers tell me vibrational energy healing is way ahead of the physical body type of therapy.I've had yoga teachers tell me there is no need to meditate, just do breathing exercises. The list goes on and on but you get the point. There is a lack of understanding on how the spirit works with the physical.

Grateful

Now this is what I am grateful for. My yoga teacher was a very unusual person living in modern society. She taught me to respect, look after, and care for the physical body. Not just mine. Other peoples in addition to my body.

When we come to the earth plane we are given a physical body for a certain length of time and we are custodians of this body. Just like collectively we humans are custodians for the earth and are meant to look after it.

The first step in being spiritual is to start looking after the physical body you have been granted. You may have a difficult time with your health but you are still responsible to manage well what you have been given.

This means eating well. Live foods can be hard to get but you can at least make an effort. Movement, too, is like a nutrient for the body. Without some kind of movement your body will definitely suffer and lose some of its function. It doesn't have to be yoga, there is tai chi, walking outdoors, in fact many options for you to choose, but you need to choose.

If your body has problems you are going to have problems taking on a spiritual discipline. If you are sick meditation is hard because you can't concentrate. If you have a low energy level it harder to maintain a clean home and cleanliness is essential for spiritual growth. You are also less likely to help others because for this you need extra energy.

Open Path

I would like to see you achieve what you really want. When was the last time you heard someone ask you this? Have you ever heard it at school, or at your job ever? Well, here is what I do not want for you. I do not want you to become a naturapath and then a few years into it have to get another job cutting sandwiches because you don't have enough clients.

I do not want to see you as an energy healer who trips over in his kitchen, lands on his elbow , and smashes it to pieces requiring

surgery because his life is unbalanced.

I do not want to see you become a yoga teacher with a massive ego putting down every other therapy because you have been brainwashed your ego your therapy is the best.

Thank You

Teacher I owe you a huge debt of gratitude. You taught me things that are not spoken of in this modern age. You always showed people forgiveness and took them back in. You taught the disabled when no one else would have them. You spent hours and hours with us in the tribal way building up our value system, showing us love and patience.

We Learned Much

Yes, we learned to do the headstand position and to hold it for five minutes. We learned to twist our western bodies into contortion like positions. We did learn all of this from you. But we learned so much more. So, can I please say to you graciously "Thank you, teacher, for all of your wisdom and kindness, and the real education you gave us, which is now helping us stand as strong as oak trees."

My wish for you reading this is that you, too, someday, find a wise, kind, and gentle soul you can walk along with. If you already have one then pause for a moment, and be grateful.
