subject: Tips And Tricks For Buying Shoes On The Internet [print this page]

If you want to buy shoes over the web and there are plenty of reasons you would, first and foremost being fabulous shoes at knock-down prices, you have to take the risk that they just wont fit or wont be comfortable for your feet. However, there are lot of things you can do to make sure you get the right pair and dont waste your money.

First, read the returns policy. A lot of eBay and private sellers wont accept returns but there are plenty of online shoe retailers who will let you return or exchange shoes that dont fit. Find one of these with a big range of the sort of thing youre interested in and create an account, especially if you like shoe shopping!

Every shoe manufacturer sizes differently. If youve got a pair of Adidas trainers that are a size 6 and a pair of Birkenstocks that are a 5 and a half, those are the baseline sizes you should try in each different brand. If you find something you really like online, like an amazing pair of New Rock Malicia boots you absolutely must have and theyre at a bargain price, it might actually be worth going to your local boot shop and trying on another pair of New Rocks, even if you cant try the ones you really want.

You can do it the other way around, too. Try on shoes you like the look (but not the price tag) of on the high street or in the shopping centre, note down the size, brand, and model name, then go online and see if you can find them at a better price.

If you try something on from one brand and you really dont like it- the toe box is too narrow or the heel cuts into the back of your foot, stay away from buying shoes from that brand online, because the chances are high that the shape and build characteristics will be similar.
