Beijing Auto Show 2010 Begins: Car Launches, Special Events, Schedule

THE BEIJING Auto Show 2010, began in China from Thursday, April 22, with nearly 2,100 companies from 16 countries and regions howcasing their products. While the event opens for the press and with the auto exhibition formally on Friday, the exhibition area's 200,000 square meters is literally bedecked with cars, including several concept cars.

A new version of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class will be launched ahead in the China auto show in Beijing. Automakers have already began a outbreak of new vehicle launches at the Beijing auto show in a jumble for China's fast-growing market among loose sales elsewhere.

Fifteen years ago, there were no private cars in the country but now it has raised to the top ranks of global auto industry events as China's explosive sales growth group this market and broke US records to in 2009 to become the biggest.

Biggest luxury brands including new long-wheelbase sedans from Audi and BMW, an all-new high-powered Ferrari 599 GTO and a V6-powered Porsche Panamera will be exciting to watch at the expo. Lamborghini will also showcase their special model just for the Chinese market, while Ford is going to present all-new global concept that could be sold in China, Europe or the US. Chinese home brands like BYD, Chery and Geely will also display their latest new models for an international audience.

China's auto market demolished the global crisis and sales increased by a huge difference of 45 percent last year to 13.6 million vehicles, and China is pretty ahead of the 10.5 million vehicles sold in the United States. Sale of the units in China increased rapidly and growth accelerated to 11.9 percent in the first quarter of this year. A conference is also going to take place to discuss the growth and other factors.

GM is launching its all new electric Volt MPV5 concept car and a Chinese-made minivan and a compact sedan. On the other hand, Ford's latest Focus sedan gets an Asian debut and the company is unveiling a new concept car.

Toyota is also not far behind as they will be showcasing fifty vehicles including the new stylish gas-electric hybrid concept car. Toyota is trying there best to have an impact on the market by providing numerous vehicles.
