subject: Affordable Sedan The Nissan Sentra [print this page]

The Nissan Sentra is the most affordable sedan of today. However, the overall quality of the car is twice as much as its price. If you are to compare it to other cars of its brand, you'd rather go for Nissan Sentra if you are thinking of practicality in a higher gas mileage.

Looking back in history, the Nissan was first introduced in 1982 by the Nissan motors. It is a rebadged export version of the Japanese Nissan Sunny. Sentra was the name used by markets in countries such as Brazil and US, as counterpart for its name Sunny in Japan. It belonged to the subcompact class from 1982 to 1986 but was then converted into a compact in 1987 until this day. In Mexico, the first three generations of the Sentra were known as the Tsuru, and the 1994 model is still sold under that name, having gone through three facelifts, alongside the current Sentra.

Nissan Sentra now has a total of six generations, not to mention the distinction of the Asian versions. Each versions undergone several facelifts. The first generation that lived from 1982-1986 is called B11. The second generation or B12 was born in 1985 and was gone by 1990. B13 or 3rd generation lasted from 1991 to 1994. 1995 to 1999 was the years for the B14 or fourth generation. In 2000, the fifth generation was introduced and was ended in 2006. B16 or 6th generation came to life in 2007 and still making a name.

In this new decade, 2010, Nissan is going to make us meet a more aggressive and upgraded version of the Nissan Sentra. Called the 2010-2011 Nissan Sentra, it will take us to a ride of quality, affordability, reliability and good looks. This 2011 Nissan is out with three models namely the Sentra XE, Sentra GXE, and the Sentra 2.5LE.

Nissan Sentra XE is the base model among the three. This one will come with a 1.8 liter l4 engine that reaches up to 126 horsepower and achieves 28 miles in the city and 36 miles per gallon on the highway.

The Nissan Sentra GXE is the mid model. When it comes to the engine specs, it is the same with the base model Sentra XE. But on this model, the air conditioning is included along with a driver and passenger side air bag, power mirrors and steering. An AM/FM CD player is also included on the package.

The last and definitely not the least is the Sentra LE 2.5. This model is stuffed with some sporty add-ons. One feature is hand when you are riding in the fog. Its new fogs lights will add a nice exterior look while being practical and functional at a small cost. There will also a sunroof option for the Sentra LE 2.5 along with a rear spoiler that would not cost you too much money.
