Source Control By David Walsh Is it a SCAM?

If you have looked around online for outsourcing guides or howto's you have no doubt found the same rehashed ebooks scams. In my experience these guides basically just tell

what to do but now HOW to do it. So when I first heard about Get Source Control I was skeptical and just assumed it was just another SCAM. So I bought it to see for myself.

Here are my thoughts on it.

Source control was created by David Walsh and online business owner. Before I talk about David I want to mention where I was at when I first started outsourcing.

I read the four hour work and learned about Elance, rent-A-coder, guru and all the other outsourcing websites. But pretty quickly I learned that outsourcing was not exactly as easy as Tim Ferris had made it seem in the four hour work week. But I knew that the idea was right and that I could hire people for in India and the Philippines for a few dollars per hour. I just needed some guidance about how to setup the right systems so that things run smoothly. That's when I started looking for a comprehensive step by step guide.

What attracted to me David Walsh was that he wasn't some over the top guru

and his marketing was fairly low key and he really wasn't try to sell me on the product. I know for a fact he could of made bigger claims about what his guide is but he is a straight up dude and that's why I decided to check out this source control ebook.

Here is why I think this product is different.

David doesn't insult your intelligence by just telling you to just go to elance and post a project and have a whole team of people working for you. If you have ever done any type of outsourcing you will no doubt know that it doesn't work that way. Instead he walks you through a strategic plan, which starts with figuring out how much your time is actually worth. When I first sat down to figure this out it dawned on me that I NEED to be outsourcing A LOT more.

Here is the process he goes over

How much do you want to make in the next 12 months? $_________

How many hours do you want to work? _____________For example: Assume 52 weeks per year 3 weeks vacation = 49 weeks at 30 hours per week = 1,470 hours

Divide TOTAL INCOME by TOTAL HOURS to get Value of Your Time: $_____________/hour

When you do the math on that you probably will realize that you NEED to outsource a lot more as well. So David provides very nice templates

that you can just swipe and use in your own business. I started out making my own but quickly realized that people weren't following and doing what I had asked for so the templates he provides are a real time saver.

What's Missing?

I have went over a few guides for outsourcing and most of them are in line with what Tim Ferris recommends. But honestly I really think that is not enough. What I liked about souce control is greatly expands on the HOW to outsource part that Tim Ferris left out in his book. One think I would have liked to see is case studies of people who changed their business around using the tool and strategies outlined in Source Control. However, I think

David goes in to enough detail to break down the process in a way that most people can't understand and most importantly implement.

When it comes to outsourcing I HIGHLY recommend a checking out source control.
