A Whole Body Cleanse to Solve the Potato-Chip Problem

If we really want to get fit and healthy, we need to learn to listen to our bodies better. Most of us aren't very good listeners, and so we run into a host of health issues especially when it comes to fats and oils. And those of us who haven't been listening are most likely in desperate need of a good whole body cleanse.

Your body speaks to you not in words, but in pains and symptoms, and it would be wise to listen before the quiet complaints become health-destroying shouts. If, for example, you've been ingesting bad fats and oils and not getting enough of the good ones, your body will let you know via poor cholesterol profile, lethargy, memory loss, and disrupted sleep patterns. And if you ignore this long enough, your body will shout at you through stroke or heart attack. So get the good oils in and the bad ones out, and consider a whole body cleanse program to expedite and complete the process.

Now, the main reason why it's so crucial to get adequate amounts of good oils and fats is that it affects the health of almost every cell in your body. Dr. Jeremy Webster explains that "we need to worry about the oils and the types of fats we consume . . . because every single cell in our body basically has a membrane or lining it's the outside of the cell. The membrane . . . is basically made of different types of oils. If you have the right types of oils in your cell, then it will allow nutrients to pass through properly and oxygen to pass through properly and will [also] allow waste and toxins to be removed from the cell properly." And the converse should be of concern as well.

If you eat too much of the wrong kinds of fats and oils as most Americans do your cells and cell membranes can get "stiff" and less easily penetrable. The result is that nutrients have a hard time getting in and toxins can't get out. And when that happens, according to Dr. Webster, "you become toxic . . . and nutrient deficient. Everything goes bad. Your skin's going to look bad. Your cardiovascular system, your heart, is going to go bad. Your brain's going to go bad." That is a pretty frightening prediction, but a good whole body cleanse can keep these things from coming to pass.

You're probably already familiar with the good fats and oils, but here's a quick run-down:

Raw (uncooked) olive oil

Coconut oil

Palm oil

Fish oil

Flax oil

Borage oil

Sesame oil

Getting adequate amounts of these will promote the health of your cells and the optimal functioning of your organ systems.

Number one on the list of bad fats and oils is anything with "hydrogenated" in the name. These oils appear in all kinds of packaged foods, cooking oils, and margarine. Potato chips, which we all love, are one of the biggest culprits. They are in fact so bad for you (because of the hydrogenated oil they are fried in) that one noted nutrition expert has gone so far as to say, "Even one potato chip is bad for you." You should also try to avoid soy bean oil, vegetable oil, and corn oil.

Listen to your body, then, and do what it takes to quiet the complaints. Jettison the bad fats and oils, get enough of the good ones, and use a body cleanse to flush out the toxins that have been accumulating as a result of your potato-chip consumption.
