Suzuki Motorcycle Parts

Frame - Is typically made from welded aluminum or steel struts, with the rear suspension being an integral component in the design. Carbon fibre and titanium are used in a few very expensive custom frames.

Suspension - Modern designs of two wheels of a motorcycle connected to the chassis by a suspension arrangement, exception for the chopper style motorcycles forgos the rear suspension by using a rigid frame.

Front fork - A motorcycle fork is the portion of a motorcycle that holds the front wheel and allows one to steer. For handling, the front fork is the most critical part of a motorcycle. The combination of rake and trail determines how stable the motorcycle is.

Engine - Almost all commercially available motorcycles are driven by conventional gasoline internal combustion engines, but some small scooter models uses an electric motor, with a small number of diesel that the Motorcycles mostly produced one to four cylinders, with the common engine configurations for a single and twin with the V-twin, the opposed boxer, of the in-line triple and in-line four including the V-4, the flat 6-cylinder, the flat 4-cylinder, the in-line 6-cylinder, and the Wankelengine. Exotic engines, such as a radial piston engine, sometimes appear in custom built motorcycles, though two firms Megola and Redrup put radial engined motorcycles into production.

Transmission - Modern motorcycles except scooters all change gears for increasing by a foot lever. The weight of the largest touring motorcycles that are excess of 360 kg or 800 lbs is such that they cannot effectively be pushed backwards by a seated rider, and they are fitted with a reverse gear as standard.

Final drive - Power transfer from the gearbox to the rear wheel is accomplished by different methods.Such as with the chain drive uses sprockets and a roller chain, which requires both lubrication and adjustment for elongation that occurs through wear. The lubricant is subject to being thrown off the fast-moving chain and results in grime and dirt build up.As its been noticed for chains do deteriorate, and excessive wear on the front and rear sprockets can be dangerous. In the case of a chain drive the power is transmitted into the real wheel via a cush drive. Virtually all high performanceracing motorcycles use chain drive.

Wheels - The wheel rims are usually steel or aluminium with steel spokes and an aluminium hub or machined aluminium. At one time, motorcycles used spoke wheels built up from separate components, except for dirtbikes, one-piece wheels are more common now. As with the performance racing motorcycles often use carbon-fibre wheels, but the expense of these wheels is prohibitively high for general usage.

Tires - Motorcycles mainly use pneumatic tires in some cases where punctures are common the tyres are filled with a mousse which is unpunctureable while both types of tyre come in many configurations. For the fact of the most important characteristic of any tyre is the contact patch, the small area that is in contact with the road surface while riding. There are tyres designed for dirtbikes, touring, sport and cruiser bikes.

Brakes - There are generally two independent brakes on a motorcycle, one set on the front wheel and one on the rear with some models have linked brakes where in both can be applied at the same time using only one control.

Suzuki Motorcycle History

Suzuki Motor Corporation is a Japanese multinational corporation headquartered in Hamamatsu, Japan that specializes in manufacturing compact automobiles, a full range of motorcycles, all terrain vehicles, outboard marine engines, wheelchairs and a variety of other small internal combustion engines.

As you are probably aware suzuki is the ninth largest auto manufacturer in the world by production volume, and they employs over 45,000 people, in 35 main production facilities in 23 countries and 133 distributors in 192 countries.

According to statistics from the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association, Suzuki is Japan's is one of the second largest manufacturer of small cars and trucks. So in 1929, Michio Suzuki invented a new type of weaving machine, which was exported overseas. Suzuki filed as many as 120 patents and utility model rights. The company's first 30 years focused on the development and production of these exceptionally complex machines.

Some things that Suzuki realized was that they had to diversify and look at other products. with consumer demand, they decided to build a small car.The project began in 1937 so within two years Suzuki had completed several compact prototype cars.

Faced with this colossal challenge, Suzuki's went back to motor vehicles. After the war, the Japanese had affordable, reliable personal transportation as Suzuki's first two wheel came in the form of a motorized bicycle called, the Power Free. Designed to be inexpensive and simple to build and maintain, the 1952 Power Free featured a 36 cc, one horsepower, two-stroke engine.

An unprecedented feature was the double-sprocket gear system, enabling the rider to either pedal with the engine assisting, pedal without engine assist, or simply disconnect the pedals and run on engine power alone. It was evident that the system the government granted Suzuki a financial subsidy to continue research in motorcycle engineering for Suzuki Motor Corporation.

When it came to the year of 1953, Suzuki scored the first of many racing victories when the tiny 60 cc Diamond Free was won for its class in the Mount Fuji Hill Climb. As you are probably aware by 1954, Suzuki has producing 6,000 motorcycles per month and officially changed its name to Suzuki Motor Co., Ltd.

The success of its first motorcycle created automobile of the 1955 Suzuki Suzulight. It has been reported that Suzuki showcased its penchant for innovation from the beginning so the Suzulight included the front-wheel drive, four-wheel independent suspension and rack and pinion steering features common on cars half a century later.
