A new system of fuel injection was introduced for the year 2002,,which works like a carburetor by employing a cv carburetor slide, controlled by a vacuum created by the engine ,with a smilar output of power of 2000-2001 bike,,the new change in bike was a improvement of cylinder sleeves of the high silicon, content alloy containing magnesium that minimized heat induced distortion, reducing consumption of oil,in 2002 also, yamaha has released a newly developed"DELTABOX III" frame, with its hydro formed construction, dramatically reduced the total number of frame welds, the cooling system was also redesigned for a good performance ,the exhaust system was changed from 4-into-1 to a new titanium 4 into 2 in 1 design ,and minor body changes have done ,,,
