UPDATE: We've tried to understand the new Apple MacBook Pro battery life ratings compared to older models. It is difficult to quantify generational differences because Apple is being tested with a benchmark battery more difficult, while improving the efficiency of new machines via Penryn chips and LED backlighting. Is it a wash, then? Not really. We have just received the comparative figures from previous generations of computers and current Apple. They read as follows: MacBook and MacBook Pro have life 30-45 minutes longer than the previous generation using the same Wireless Web test. With LED backlighting, the numbers jump to one hour.
Note that the laptop LCD screen is not standard 17-inch LED-backlit, so it is not expressed in these forecasts. Finally, Apple is the most difficult test before being, as we saw in the air, the battery or put me in these machines will probably be even less. (The battery claims of previous generations were much higher because the old test was basically typing in a text editor with Wi-Fi off, which obviously inflated previous estimate of battery life beyond reason.)
Previously (and damped)
I just talked to Apple and find out why the numbers are lower new test, when in reality and real life all these models are higher. It has to do with their testing methodology. Instead of making the laptop battery life as the longest of three tests (a test DVD playback, a test of standard Wi-Fi usage and web browsing, and a trial is the absolute power saving mode does just text editing), Apple just reported half test, which approximates average usage much better than the other two. Previously, they had a number for the unlikely scenario that you want to be editing a text document while not connected to the Internet. If you ran the same tests on the three models, the newer laptops that actually rate higher than before, says Apple. Jason Chen -
Before this (and repaid):
The battery life of the new MacBook and MacBook Pro 17 battery has dropped dramatically in the new revision. After having been the interpreter of the battery of 5.75 hours, the 2.6GHz MacBook Pro 17 dropped to 4.5 hours. There are several explanations, but none of them can explain the change because the numbers do not add up:
The first is Apple's new life "wireless productivity battery. According to Apple, this measure of autonomy in the use of Wi-Fi standard Web browser pages, in collaboration with the mail and other Internet-related applications. It seems that if Apple is now much more cautious and rigorous in their testing of MacBook Pro 13 Battery performance. But what can explain the decrease does not seem as simple as that.
The MacBook Pro 15 battery life , for example, remains unchanged throughout the CPU speed even with the control method of the new battery. Apple sources indicate that the use of LED screen backlighting saves about 30 minutes of battery life. But is that enough to offset the decline against the battery life of the MacBook Pro 17 "
