The Story Of How Emissaries Of Divine Light Was Started

Emissaries of Divine Light is a new age religious organization which was originally established in 1932. From those humble beginnings the group has now turned into an international religious community. Their beliefs center around the conept that all people need to connect with their spiritual core and awaken from what they refer to as spiritual amnesia. These and other teachings have attracted a variety of folks to become Emissaries themselves. Emissaries of Divine Light has always been a relatively small yet very supportive community since it got its start in the 1930's.

Spiritual meetings and events are held by the Emissaries of Divine Light in spirituality centers and communities all throughout the world. Individuals interested in learning more about the religion and their beliefs can visit the communities for varied lengths of time. The Emissaries explain a person's visit there as a unique chance for them to awaken to their own personal divinity. Events at Emissary ranches are supposed to help visitors feel purposeful and tranquil so that they can undergo deep personal and spiritual change.

The founder of Emissaries of Divine Light, Lloyd Arthur Meeker, formed the group in 1932 after he received a spiritual revelation. After this experience, he began writing and teaching his religious beliefs and travelling in order to spread them throughout the United States. Around this time he and his associates began calling him Uranda. In 1945 he settled down in Loveland, Colorado and established the Sunrise Ranch, which became the headquarters for the growing organization.

After Lloyd Arthur Meeker, also called Uranda, passed away in 1954, Martin Cecil, also known as Martin Exeter, became the leader of the group. The leadership of the Emissaries was changed in 1988 when Martin Exeter died and a board of trustees began leading the group. David Karchere is the current Spiritual Director of the Emissaries, though individual communities around the world care for the coordination of their religious activities.

Many opinions have been expressed about the Emissaries of Divine Light ever since Uranda began teaching his beliefs in 1932. Some former members of the group have quit and made surprising accusations about the group's activities. In the end, it is vital for each person to consider the facts about the Emissaries of Divine Light and respect the beliefs of other individuals.
