The Story Of How Emissaries Of Divine Light Was Established

The history of Emissaries of Divine Light as a religious order begins in 1932 when the group was formed. Now there are communities of Emissaries all around the world meeting to share their religious beliefs and ideals. Emissaries believe that many people are in a state of what they call "spiritual amnesia" but that awakening is possible. These beliefs have brought in people from a wide variety of backgrounds over the years. Although the Emissaries of Divine Light has experienced many changes since the 1930's, the group remains a tight knit religious community.

Spiritual meetings and events are held by the Emissaries of Divine Light in spirituality centers and communities all throughout the world. The group invites interested people to plan to visit these conferences and meeting places to find out more about the religion. The goal of visiting an Emissary center is to allow a person to become aware of their inner divine core. This can lead to impressive personal changes; Emissary ranches and meeting centers are designed to allow purposeful work and tranquility during this time of spiritual awakening.

Lloyd Arthur Meeker formed the religious group known as Emissaries of Divine Light in 1932 when he had a profound religious awakening. This revelation led to his writing and teaching many new spiritual ideas in all parts of the United States in an effort to enlighten others to his new realizations of truth. During this time he and his companions began calling him Uranda. He eventually made a headquarters for his new religious group when he built the Sunrise Ranch in Loveland, Colorado in 1945.

After Lloyd Arthur Meeker, also called Uranda, passed away in 1954, Martin Cecil, also known as Martin Exeter, became the leader of the group. The leadership of the Emissaries was adapted in 1988 when Martin Exeter died and a board of trustees began leading the group. David Karchere is the current Spiritual Director of the organization, but individual communities around the world care for the coordination of their religious activities.

Since the religious group Emissaries of Divine Light first showed up in 1932, many people have formed opinions about their activities. Accusations have been launched against the Emissaries by some ex-members as well. Before deciding what you feel towards the Emissaries of Divine Light, it is important to consider all the facts and remember to respect people's right to their own religious beliefs.
