subject: Which Video Game Player To Choose? [print this page]

There are some great choices amongst video players so if you love playing video games you are in luck. There are components with online game play, high definition ability and some really fun games which is the most important thing. It's great to have wonderful graphics and fancy gizmos but the game has to be fun or no one will want to play.

Not including the hand held systems and PC's you have three choices as far as home consoles. You have the popular Nintendo Wii, the Xbox360 and the Playstation 3. All of these machines are great in what they do. Some people will feel the need to have multiple machines to get what they want, but they have all come down in price and are much more affordable.

The PS3 and Xbox both play DVD's, but the Playstation has a built in Blu-ray player as well. This is an important feature to many people who love watching movies. The BD disc offers a much better sound and picture than the traditional DVD's. The Nintendo Wii does not have a DVD or Blu-ray player. You will need to have something else to watch movies with. All three machines have their own version of online play, but the Xbox community is much larger and more active than the other two. Most people who play online, FPS and strategy games will play them on the Xbox.

Online abilities of the Nintendo Wii aren't quite so extensive, created for the less intense or younger player. Although the online play isn't the same quality the Wii can do a unique thing the other two can't do, it can download old Nintendo games onto the hard drive for a small fee. You acquire games that were played on the old Nintendo consoles, N64, SNES and NES.

There really are some great classic games that you just can't find anywhere else without buying all the old consoles from somewhere online. You get to choose from hundreds of great classic games from Nintendo and even Sega consoles and a few other manufacturers. It is a great way to play those old games that you remember and a great place to discover classic games for the first time. The PS3 has online capabilities, but the power of the machine and the BD capabilities is what sets it apart.
