You are excited to use your new computer and get online so that you can chat with your friends. Excitement runs through your vein and you want to play online games all night long. Please do not rush in plugging in your computer and improperly installing software.

Your new computer should be properly checked to ensure you have received all of the accessories that came with it. The proper way to go about this is to read the order slip so that you can see if there are missing items. Learn to read the instructions and guidelines as well to avoid damaging your computer and having to spend hours on the phone with technical suppport. Once everything has been checked and unpacked, start laying everything out and choose the best place to put the computer. The place should be away from heat, dust and other electronics that may interfere with it. Okay you are ready to power up your computer. Please use a surge protector or better yet a UPS. Check all the cables for your computer peripherals such as speakers, mouse, keyboard, printers, etc. The first thing that you will see when powering up your computer is the Windows installation screen. Do not be afraid to go through the process; just read through the instructions and you will be fine. Just be sure to take note of your password if you opted to put one because if you forgot it then most likely you will end up doing the same thing again. Keep all the receipts, warranty cards, manuals and CDs that came with your computer for future references.

So you are done installing the operating system, now you go through the installation of the other CDs that came with the computer and your other third party software. Always be sure that the software is compatible and that your computer meets the minimum requirements. Before you go on the internet and begin downloading stuff, be sure that you are properly protected by your antivirus and other Windows protections. You need to update and register all your computer software, e specially your operating system. The registration of your operating system can either be done online or through the phone.

There shouldnt be any problem if you properly go through the set up process. Lastly, you should be checking the functionality of each device so that you can easily call for returns if there are damaged items. Remember to review your manufacturers policy and guidelines. Use and maintain your computer wisely to prevent future problems.
