Is Hub pages a Scam?

Is Hub pages a Scam? I guess that depends on who you ask. You will find good and bad reviews. A few bad reviews doesn't make something a scam. Scam is a word meaning dishonest and unethical. There are so many fraudulent sites around I ca see why some may be suspicious of Hubpages. Hubpages is a writing site that lets writers create single pages on any topic and earn revenue. Hubpages is simple enough for anyone to use. You can add capsules like RSS feeds, links, text, and videos. Hubpages can be on any topic as long as they follow guidelines lines. The only things not allowed are hate, over promotional, and gambling sites.

The top of the site reads " Publish easily, attract readers. Earn rewards." It sounds simple enough. What kind of rewards do you earn at Hubpges. Writers can earn from four revenue capsules: Adsense, Amazon, Kontera, and Ebay Affiliate Network. Hubpages shares revenue with users by rotating Adsense ads. After you sing up, you need to inert your affiliate ID for reach program. If you don't have an account for either of these, follow the link to sign up under the settings tab. You won't ear without joining these programs. You don't have to join all of them but it increases revenue.

Are there any other benefits to Hubpages? Hubpages is a good platform for beginners who would like to get their feet wet. Your writing has the chance to be noticed and reviewed. If you become really good, you may be asked to write hubs for others . You may qualify for the Hubpages flagship program which pays writers. However, it requires high standards of writing. You can share anything on your mind whether it is politics, world news, or hobbies. It is a site for all skill levels of writing. Search engines love hub pages.

While Hubpages has a few advantages, I found some disadvantages after using the site a while. I wondered if the rewards were really worth the effort. It can take a long time to earn at revenue sharing sites. Getting an Adsense account isn't easy these days and the Ebay affiliate policy has changed. Many new users will be left with Kontera and Amazon which can reduce revenue. Some claim to make four figures a month their earning are from ad sense and they have at least 100 hubs or better. .It takes much work and dedication to reach this level and that is no guarantee.

The Hubscore is another element I'm not very fond of here. The highest score you can get is 100. When you publish a hub, it gets a default score of 45-50. If the Hub reaches a score of 75 or better, it is placed in the featured Hubs section. The Hubscore is based on quality of work and popularity. However, I think popularity is more of an influencing factor. Your score fluctuates depending on how active you are on the site. My reason for not liking the Hubscore is you have to constantly stay active and update your Hubs. It is motivator for you to give them more content.

I think the scam part of hub pages is the business model. It sparks rivalry among writers. This may cause a Hub to be flagged for no reason except to reduce competition. It may make an angry writer to click too many ads getting another writer's Adsense account banned. Featured Hubs entice readers to sign up, submit free content, and supposedly earn rewards. After spending about three years on the site, I decided the rewards' aren't worth the effort. I can't help but owner if the creators of Hupages are sitting back laughing at the rivalry. Hubpages is a good place for hobby writers and part-time income but there are better sites to make money.
