Driving Forward Into the New Year Looking in the Rear View Mirror

It is of utmost importance when I am driving to take a moment to check the rear view mirror to gage the traffic flow and traffic occurrences that are taking place behind me. If I hear a siren, I want to be able to determine which side of the road to pause to allow any such vehicle to pass by safely. However, I should never continually non-stop become so occupied with watching the rear view mirror because it becomes impossible to see how to maneuver through what is ahead. It is good for me to know where I have traveled to come to arrive at this point. I always take a moment to check the rear view mirror to continue to move forward successfully. However, it is far more crucial that I focus on what is ahead of me.

I could be going to fast not allowing a safe distance between myself and the driver in front of me. There may be road construction ahead and I may need to allow myself time to get over into another lane before coming too close to the traffic construction site and now stuck waiting for a non-yielding traffic temperament to find mercy and allow me to merge into a moving lane of traffic once again.

Scripture -

Philippians 3:13-14(King James Version)

13Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended but this one thing I do, forgetting those things, which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things, which are before,

14I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

Prayer

Dear God Help us to be mindful of where we have come that we may press forward with great success. In Jesus Name. Amen.
