subject: Trabaho Asenso - finding A Way Through Recession [print this page]

Living in a place where recession is present, it is quite hard for a simple person like me to surpass each day. I could say that I am a victim of crisis that our country is dealing with today. I was fired with the company I was working for years recently. They told me that they really felt sorry about it but they dont have a choice but to dismiss some workers in able for the company to survive, too bad, it hits me!

For initial reaction, I got so mad and betrayed because I worked for them for so many years and I did everything for the success of the company. I could say that I have done my part and I contributed well. I felt it was so unfair! The world crashed down on me in an instant. Being the breadwinner for the family who provided everything, the first thing that comes in my mind was their worries, they depend on me financially. For sure they will get disappointed if they have learned about the bad news I had with me.

I see bunch of problems coming over me

Everything turned as what Ive thought and expected. Everyday of my life is a struggle. The more days passed, the more expenses we have. I dont have enough money left on my account. I not quite sure if it can still fulfill our expenses for more days. Before it leads my family to hunger, I have to think for some alternatives to solve the problem.

The first thing I did was prayed and asked for help and guidance to Almighty God. Then I gather all the strengths I had and talked to my family. I revealed the obstacles we are dealing now. I asked for their help and I explained everything, that I couldnt shoulder the problems all by myself anymore. I asked for their support and cooperation for us to get over the crisis we are dealing with.

We compromised and thought of some possible options that will fits the problem and chose the best to solve it.

Since there is no store around the neighborhood we just decided to provide a small convenience store for a start. We used the money left in my account. We filled it with the basic necessities of people that are highly sellable, like rice, vegetables and meat. My mom manages it while my sister put a barbecue stand in front of the store for additional income.

Unbelievably, our business went well. We didnt earned a lot but at least it filled all our expenses for our daily survival. We are able to eat thrice a day and it helps my siblings to stay in school.

I dont have work yet, but I never stop looking for a job until I got one.
