How SEO Is Done? Explained By Egypt SEO

Search engine optimization, is the process of using various techniques to improve a web site's ranking in the search engines and thus attract more visitors. To learn how SEO is done, first of all we must learn how search engines operates.

What are the major components which power search engines?

1- Crawling

Spiders are sent by search engines to websites on the internet to gather new content... but wait a minute! Did you say spiders?

A spider is a computer program sent by search engines to browse the World Wide Web in a methodical, automated manner. Other terms for Spider are Web crawlers, bots, and Web spider.

2- Indexing

Indexing is the process of reading a web page and extracting the content into a database. If a page is not in a search engine's index, it cannot be shown for an organic search query. So if your website is not indexable for any technical reason or what so ever, you will never rank on search engines results page.

3- Ranking

The final and most important component, it is the technology used to determine which page on the web is most relevant to any given search term. Search engines follow a set of rules to rank websites and/or pages.

So how to rank your website or web page above your competition to get more traffic and thus more business opportunities?

This can only be achieved by "Spoon feeding" search engines relative content. Relative content means content that is relative to the search queries users use on search engines.

Are search engines so dumb that they need to be Spoon fed like babies?

Of course search engines are getting smarter by the day but, most search engines aren't sophisticated and advanced as you may think. So they need your content to be presented to them in a way that they easily comprehend and understand thus relate to queries users use when performing searches.

Take this as an example. Maybe you go write an article about how Egyptians loves soccer, and you can use all the smart metaphors you have in your arsenal. But if you didn't use some of the most relevant and obvious keywords in your article like zamalek, ahly, ismaily, abo treika, barakat search engines may find it hard to rank your article for relevant searches.

This is why you need to use keywords in your articles

As an editor/writer or an Search engine optimization specialist, you must strike a balance between writing engaging content for your audience and spoon feeding search engines your content.

How to strike that balance?

To strike that optimal balance you must use the keywords people search for when searching for similar content of yours.

This is all for now, stay tuned for more Egypt SEO tips and gudies!
