subject: Fhtm.net Misses The Mark [print this page] This article will take a closer look at the FHTM.net corporate opportunity web site. If you are currently a representative of FHTM or considering this opportunity, you will benefit from this overview of your primary marketing 'tool'.
Since this was my first visit to the site, I quickly noted how much this site resembled many other mlm opportunity sites. I also found myself confused at to what I should be doing. Should I enroll for the business opportunity, purchase a product or should I just read the press release?
A site such as this would need quick follow up with an interested prospect because the products and the opportunity are mixed, with no clear distinction nor emphasis on either.
There is a corporate contact on the menu options, but no other web site engagement mechanisms, such as Twitter, Facebook or an email newsletter invitation. While there are some interesting 'representative success stories', there is not a search feature to locate distributors (at least not that is evident). There is also not an obvious way to become an FHTM representative...so I guess it's back to the 'contact' form if you are curious about the business and wanting to locate a distributor in your area.
If your prospect is looking for an online corporate brochure, then this fits the bill. However, you're going to need to follow up quickly with your prospect to fill in the blanks for them. It's a stretch to think that this type of site will immediately convince someone to part with $299 (or more) to start their new business online.
The Office Assistant service ($24.99/month) is mentioned, and is said to offer a video email system and a splash video page. Valuable tools such as options for customization, autoresponders and multiple landing pages are strangely absent.
Unfortunately, this type of corporate brochure site is far too common with network marketing companies and it places their distributors at a disadvantage online. Consumers now have come to expect engaging videos and audio on web sites. They also have an extrememely short attention span--a few seconds at most-- and will hit the back button quickly if they don't find the site attractive or easy to navigate.
If you are serious about building a new MLM business, and you want to use the Internet to do so, you are going to need cutting edge marketing systems and tools that include video elements and appealing lead capture (squeeze) pages. You also need to engage and communicate with your prospects on an ongoing basis. This is done most effectively with emails and an autoresponder system, such as GetResponse or Aweber.
The 7 Figure Networker System, created by Jonathan Budd for online network marketing entrepreneurs, includes the necessary elements for capturing leads and staying in communication with them about you and your business opportunity. This sysytem was also built with pay per click marketing in mind and offers the ability to create and track multiple landing pages.
The 7-Figure Networker System, with its flexibility to customize and track results of multiple capture pages, could be used effectively to promote the Fortune Hi-Tech Marketing opportunity.
