According to Slim Shady; "The Two Facers" i Dispise

Can be summed up by this pessimistic quote from the in/famous Marshal Mathers (Slim Shady)

"What are friends?

Friends are people you think are your friends but they're really your enemies with

secret identities.

In disguises to hide they true colors, so just when you think you close enough to be

brothers the wanna come back and cut your throat when you ain't looking" - If I Had, Slim Shady LP

This is part of a song, and being what is is, from who it's by, it is an over-generalization. Yet the truth in this statement embodies a certain type of person i know, you know, and as luck would have it, every one of us knows.

I speak not of a traitor, or a double-dealing back stabber, but of an actual friend/acquaintance you may know now or have known in the past.

This friend cares about your feelings. So great, in fact, is their care for you, that they can despise you with every drop of their moral fiber and yet avoid at all costs the showing of said spite.

Spite, dislike, disinterest, disagreement, disdain, etc...

You talk to them, usually with the only other option being silence, get along with them be it at school, work, etc... Until you decide, through a change of circumstance, that they were more valuable than you initially gave credit for.

Seeking a conversation or a meeting, be it to "hang out", see a movie, smoke grass, etc... You call them, and yet they have the gall to hide their true colors, and lie to your face, and act like a friend when their interest lies anywhere but within your companionship.

You arrange a meeting, say the following weekend, then you cannot get a hold of them. You send them a text, and get no reply for weeks. You see them on the street, telling each other "don't be a stranger", only to find your friendship estranged the moment you lose eye contact.

The people i speak of are defined by the following...

1.Usually met through circumstances beyond your control

2.Never initiate contact (call, email, text, etc...)

3.Make promise to see or speak to you, yet make excuses, or fail altogether.

4.Just plain don't want anything to do with you, yet they don't feel compelled to owe it to you to tell you that this friendship, this bond, this companionship, quite simply Does Not Exist!

5. Simply put, the people I hate act

" With secret identities, in disguises to hide their true colors, so just when you think your close enough to be brothers they wanna come back and cut your throat when you aren't looking"
