subject: Cincinnati Bengals Tickets - Oh, Ochocinco! [print this page] Chad Ochocinco is one of the most talented players on the Cincinnati Bengals' roster, but his over-the-top antics keep him in the headlines as much as his game day feats. His name itself-changed from his given name Chad Johnson-has been media fodder for some time. One of his latest headline-grabbing activities actually coincided with his actions on the field. During the Bengals' game against the Baltimore Ravens, Ochocinco produced a one-dollar bill and tired to approach officials during a review of one of his catches.
After the game, he jokingly called the one-dollar bill a "bribe," but the league wasn't laughing. Instead, they slapped Ochocinco with a $20,000 fine, saying that he had violated league conduct rules. The league indicated in a letter that the action was in poor taste and also noted that players are not allowed to use props for celebration or any other on-field action. It isn't the first fine for Ochocinco, but most of his run-ins with the league have to do with this type of attention-grabbing activity rather than any malicious actions on the field.
Another action that may have landed him in hot water was reportedly thwarted by Bengals' head coach Marvin Lewis. Ochocinco is very active on Twitter, and revealed his plan to send mustard to the Steelers (the Bengals' Week 10 opponent) since he predicted they wouldn't be able to "ketch-up" to the Bengals' play. The comment had an extra layer of irony, as the Steelers' home field is named Heinz Field, which is also where the game between Cincinnati and Pittsburgh will be held. Lewis banned him from sending the condiment, but Ochocinco will surely have a new trick up his sleeve soon.
Those following Chad Ochocinco on Twitter may have also noticed that he may be making a foray into a different sort of sport soon. He apparently wants to be a part of a exhibition UFC match, and tweeted at UFC President Dana White, "Dana this Ocho Cinco, I want to fight your #1 and #2 best fighters asap, exhibition to raise money for a charity of choice!!!!!!" He also had an opponent in mind and tweeted to White that he wants to take on Anderson Spider Silva. Ochocinco may be tough, but going up against a seasoned UFC fighter could, in reality, be much tougher than he imagined.
He may be the undisputed most entertaining member of the Bengals, but Ochocinco isn't the only news coming out of Cincinnati lately. Following Week Nine play, the Bengals announced a pair of players placed on injured reserve: Roy Williams and Chris Henry. Williams, a Pro-Bowl safety, had been struggling with a forearm injury for the last four games and was finally placed on IR. Wide receiver Henry also suffered a forearm injury during the Bengals' Week Nine play against the Baltimore Ravens.
With the two open roster spots, the Bengals signed offensive lineman Scott Kooistra and wide receiver Maurice Purify. Fans can catch Ochocinco and crew on the field by getting Cincinnati Bengals tickets.
