subject: How To Control The Symptoms Of Herpes [print this page]

Making an effort to ward off changes is not easy because changes are constant. There are many constant changes in our lives. One of these is the beliefs, traditions and practices that we adapt in our everyday living. In this day and age where our idea of fun is rather more filled with spontaneity and less influenced by traditional values and morals, sexual intercourse have been a phenomenon. In fact, even those who are not into intimate relationships with a partner are making these advances with a partner.

To a certain extent, we may say that these practices are common and its almost part of the norm. There's almost nothing wrong with these practices; but the thing there is that viral and infectious diseases may be passed on from one partner to another through these practices. One of the contagious diseases that are being passed on from one partner to another through sexual contact is herpes.

Herpes a viral disease caused by herpes simplex virus. It is the medical classification inclined to a group of viruses that cause painful blisters and sores around the mouth and genitals. The virus can spread easily if an individual with the virus makes physical contact with another person. However, it can spread at any time, even when there aren't any symptoms. Here are some tips that can assist you in managing herpes:

1. Visit your doctor and get a prescription. There used to be no cure for herpes, yet new research shows that prescription medicines can significantly lessen the frequency of outbreaks and reduce or avoid its transmission to partners.

2. Take control of stress. Being emotionally stress is cause of too much problems.

3. Determine what causes the outbreaks. It can sometimes be something that you take in such as nuts, chocolate, caffeine or too much alcohol. You can monitor your daily diet by keeping a food journal to help you easily determine if food easily triggers it and if so, which ones.

4. Clean your sores. Use soap and water to frequently clean broken blisters and destroy the active viral fluid draining out of the lesions.

5. Eat a healthy well-balanced diet. You should have a lot of protein, fiber and iron. Regularly take vitamins supplements to make sure you get all the nutrients you need. Amino acids and lysine whether taken as a pill or applied as a cream, take care of the symptoms.

6. Find a support group.

Managing herpes may seem a tad difficult at first, but once you begin the process, you will get used to it. Managing herpes is not impossible, as long as you stick to the restrictions et by your doctor and as long as to learn to adapt to your infection by making the right lifestyle choices.
