subject: 2010 Bcs National Championship Game Tickets - Likely Champions [print this page] The 2010 BCS National Championship Game will be played at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif. on Jan. 7. It's a long time away, but we need to start thinking about the most likely teams to make it there, as tickets to this event are going to sell extremely quickly. Which teams have the best shot of getting their names on the ticket stubs for 2010 BCS National Championship Game tickets? Which team's fans will scour websites for seats when the game's participants are announced? Here are a few of the most likely contenders:
Florida - The Florida Gators are looking to win yet another national championship in the 2000s, and they appear to be the best out of any team at this point in the season. As of Nov. 13th, the Gators have the No. 1 position in the AP Top 25 Poll and the BCS Rankings, the two most important indicators of a team's power ranking. Florida is undefeated at this point, a perfect 9-0 along with the other top six teams in the latest BCS - Texas, Alabama, TCU, Cincinnati and Boise State. Florida has big time wins over Arkansas, Georgia and LSU, and they've kept their margin of victory numbers very high this season. Right now the safe money is on Florida to not only get to the Rose Bowl for the Title Game but also to win it. In the closing weeks they'll be challenged by two away games at South Carolina and Alabama, and there's always the SEC Title Game that could trip them up at the last moment.
Texas - Texas is one of the remaining undefeated teams in Division I NCAA football, and they're currently ranked No. 2 in the AP and No. 3 BCS Polls, putting them in a great position to get a shot at the national title. But can they hold onto their spot near the top of the NCAA football mountain? The Longhorns have big wins over teams like Texas Tech, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Missouri. One good thing for Texas fans is their schedule coming up, which does not feature any Top 25 teams. The Longhorns will play Baylor (4-5), Kansas (5-4) and Texas A&M (5-4) to close out the regular season.
Alabama - The Crimson Tide are currently No. 2 in the BCS Rankings, and they're still undefeated at 9-0, with notable wins over LSU, South Carolina, Tennessee and Kentucky. Playing Auburn on the road will be tough, and of course 'Bama fans are probably already eying that end-of-season date with Florida on Dec. 5. A lot could rest on the outcome of that game. One good thing for Crimson Tide fans is that the game will be played at home in Tuscaloosa.
TCU - While the Horned Frogs are not a team that's typically mentioned in the running for the national championship, especially at this point in the season, they're making their mark on the national stage. TCU has a No. 4 position in the BCS Rankings as well as in the AP Poll. They haven't been playing pushovers, either. The Mountain West school has wins over Virginia and Clemson, and they've beaten BYU on the road. They'll have to finish undefeated for a shot at the title game though, and that means winning against both Utah and Wyoming. Clearly, TCU is also hoping for some of the teams in front of them in the rankings to falter in the next few weeks.
