It is located in the outer slopes of Dhauladhar mountain range. One of the famous tourism destinations of North India, Dalhousie attracts a large number of visitors from all over the places and is a popular honeymoon destinations of India.
The place has been named after the name of its founder, Lord Dalhousie and spreads over an area of around 13 sq km. There are around five hills namely, Balun, Petreyn, Kathlog, Bakrota and Tehra surrounding Dalhousie. Dalhousie ranges between an altitude of 1,525 m and 2,378 m above sea level. St. Andrew's Church
St. Andrew's Church is also famous by the name of Church of Scotland and was built in 1903. It is located in Baloon and is related to Protestant Christians. Located at a distance of about 2 km from Dalhousie bus stand, this Church attracts every visitor on the tour to Dalhousie.
St. Francis Church
St. Francis Church is a Catholic Church, which is located at Subhash Chowk. Built in 1894, this Church is believed to have been constructed copying one of the famous Church of England. This Church presents a beautiful example of the intricate stone and glass work architecture.
Bakrota Hills
Bakrota hills are very famous among visitors to this hill station. Located at an altitude of about 2,745 meters above sea level and 10 km away from Dalhousie town, Bakrota Hills are considered very good for trekking enthusiasts. One can have a mesmerising view of the snow capped Himalayan mountain peaks.
Dainkund
Dainkund is situated at a height of about 2,745 meters. It is one of the most visited sightseeing location from where one can have the enchanting view of the three rivers namely, Ravi, Beas and Chenab on a clear day. It is located 10 km away from the Dalhousie town.
Khajjiar
Khajjiar is situated at a distance of 27 km away from Dalhousie town, at an altitude of about 2,000 m above sea level. It is one of the most charming locations of India and is the favourite place for honeymoon couples. There is a small lake in the centre of the lush green oval ground, covered from all sides in a circle shape by evergreen Pine and Deodar trees. There is also a beautiful temple at this place.
Kalatop
Kalatop is located at a distance of about 8.5 km away from the Dalhousie town. This location presents a panoramic view of the mesmerising landscape of the surrounding areas. Its really a cherishing view of the nearby hills covered with evergreen pine trees and the green fields. Kalatop is situated at a height of about 2,440 meters above sea level.
