Probably the most sought after body feature after the six pack. For some maybe even more then the six pack! There is nothing that looks better on a man then a pair of wide shoulders and a powerful back.Even as you look at the ancient Greeks the "ideal" men in the statues all have that same look. Thin waist, broad shoulders and a muscular back(lats).
First of all i want you to decide "Is this worth it, am i going to stick it out for the whole program" because if you start and stop constantly it looses purpose and effect. So if you REALLY want a V shaped torso continue reading.
Alright lets get down to business first of all you have to start training shoulders. To train shoulders do 5 sets of 40 reps of shoulder shrugs every day twice a day. Once your muscles get bigger and stronger start doing 45,50 and more reps. Personally i found more reps and less weight make you look stronger, and your shoulders wider, but more weight added on makes your shoulders stronger. So you decide right now stronger or better looking, or a bit of both. So after the shrugs you want to do the over head press coming down to your back. Do 20 your first time and eventually work your way up to 30 but also increase the weight a little by little. Remember that pull ups and push ups work your shoulders too.
The second thing you have to train is your lat muscles. The best exercise for this muscle is pull ups lots and lots of pull ups. To start try to do 3 sets of 10 and have a chair under the bar to help yourself a little with your feet. Eventually start doing more and more, you will know when to move up in the sets by your feelings. The other really good exercise for the lats is the lat pull down. No really i know its obvious but this is a really good exercise to do. Do 5 sets of 15 reps for those and the final back oversize is dumbbell rows, do 3 sets of those on each side, first 8 reps then more.
After that there is still a long way to go, you might have very broad shoulders and a very strong back but if you do not do cardio and ab exercise it wont be easy to see that V. For the ab exercises i recommend http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9tDZRogSbbU .
