Gas Saving Tips in Cars

1.Drive sensibly : Do not indulge in rash driving, like speeding, rapid acceleration and braking, this wastes gas.

2.Proper Maintenance : A vehicle must be well maintained, so that it operates with greater efficiency. This will improve the fuel economy as well.

3. Don't overload : Always try to keep your car, light by not overloading it. Because if the car is loaded, it uses more energy to move. More energy means, more fuel is consumed, so avoid loading your cars.

4. Combining : While on a drive, try to finish off the trip to more places, so that it saves your time and fuel. Because, the engine, which is warms uses less fuel, than the engine which is cold.

5. Avoid execessive airconditioning : Air conditioning requires lot of fuel, so it is better to avoid, when airconditioning is not required at all.

6. Stop idling : When you are not driving, simply do not keep the machine on, simply off it, so that you save fuel and economy.

7. Keep Clean : Keeping your car washed and waxed improves aerodynamics and therefore affects fuel economy.

8. Keep Tires Properly Inflated : Properly inflated tires are safer and last longer. You can improve your gas mileage by up to 3.3 percent by keeping your tires inflated to a proper pressure.

9. Use the Recommended Grade of Motor Oil: By using the manufaturer's recommended grade of motor oil, your gas mileage will improve by 2 percent.

10. Commuting : Consider telecommuting (working from home) if your employer permits it. Take advantage of carpools and ride-share programs. You can cut your weekly fuel costs in half and save wear on your car if you take turns driving with other commuters.

11: Keep your car idle : Atleast for some trips, try to avoid driving, your car. Instead go by walk or use bicycles, this will save the fuel.

12: Use the highest gear possible: To improve your fuel economy, drive in the highest gear possible when you are cruising at a steady speed, such as on the highway. If your vehicle has an automatic transmission with a "sport" mode, it's most likely that this is a computer program designed to shift later (and therefore keep you in a lower gear longer). While this gives you greater performance, driving in "sport" mode will also decrease your fuel economy.

13. Avoid filling gas tank to top : Because overfilling results in sloshing over and out of tank. Never fill gas tank past the first "click" of fuel nozzle, if nozzle is automatic. Avoid rough roads: Whenever possible avoid rough roads, because dirt or gravel robs you of up to 30% of your gas mileage. Use alternate roads when safer, shorter, straighter. Compare traveling distance differences - remember that a corner, curves and lane jumping requires extra gas. The shortest distance between two points is always straight.

14. Buying the best Car: Before buying the best Car, decide which gives more mileage, donot go on looks. Remember it is gas car mileage that matters.
