subject: Business Class V/s First Class; Know The Differences [print this page]

There is a general misconception that first or business class is the same with similar range of services. And the airlines refer them in different names merely for the namesake. But the truth is that there are indeed differences between first and business class that goes beyond just the variation in prices. Even though many of us would like to travel in first or executive class, the price is the main factor that holds back many travelers from doing so.

It is the primary objective that separates business class from the first class. The services offered in the two classes are growing closer with each day. Productivity is the main objective with business class. This is because when the business people take a long flight in executive class they are likely to be more energetic and thereby productive when they reach their destination. The travel would be refreshing than in economy class. If they are planning to start working the second they leave the plane, the best choice for business men would be to take cheap business class flights.

On the other hand, the objective is completely different in first class. There, luxury is the keyword. The first class passengers are treated with luxury and comfort. They would be provided extra space and a wide variety of amenities. While one flies in first class, he can expect free champagne and crystal wares too. However, these days only a very discerning traveler can figure out the difference between the first and economy class. There is only a very few differences between the amenities and services offered in both the classes. In the first class, maybe there would be more space and legroom. The food and liquor would be a little better. But in executive class too the food is served with 2-3 courses and is much better than coach. Usually there would be free alcohol on board.

The first class travelers would be allowed to check-in faster and the luggage allowance would also be more for them. They would also be given access to special first class lounges at the airport terminals. But these perks are also enjoyed by the business class travelers too. The business class seats are also comfortable and they get fine quality food and wine. The airlines would offer premium seats, amenity kits, personal laptop power ports etc.

People take first class and executive class for enduring a comfortable journey especially if it is a far destination. There are slight differences between the seats in first and executive class. In United Airlines business class, there would be considerable amount of increase in seat width and comfort compared to the economy class. They have more adjustability including lumbar support, leg rests and head rests not to mention a greater angle of recline. While stepping up to the first class in United Airlines, there would be a small suite that converts into a fully flat bed. The seats would also have some added features, but the main attraction is the lie-flat facility.

Most of the frequent travelers would agree that business class services have the most bang for the bucks. So for getting comfort and luxury travel cheap business flights would be the best choice.
