You are a smokerYou are a smoker. You have been a smoker for quite some time. You are also aware that smoking is one of the worst habits that a person can have. You want to quit smoking, and have been thinking about it for quite awhile now, but you are not sure how to go about it. You hear so many horror stories about people who try to quit smoking and then fail. However, there is always hope for someone to be able to beat nicotine. Here are some tips that help you be able to kick nicotine out of your life for good.

The first thing you need to do is acknowledge the fact that you have a nicotine addiction. Your body tells you that you need to smoke when in all actuality it is doing nothing but hurting your body. Accepting that reality, however, does not mean that you are admitting defeat to nicotine. It simply means that you have a realistic view of your own situation. And now comes the part where you use that reality to empower you to quit. Because if you accept the reality that you are addicted to smoking, then you can accept the fact that smoking is taking a terrible toll on your health and needs to be stopped.

Go around your house, or apartment, or whatever it is you are living in, and grab all of your smoking items. Grab your cigarettes, lighters, ash trays, rolling papers, and anything else that you use to smoke, and chuck them all in the trash and bury them further with even more trash. You need to completely remove the temptation to smoke in your home, because that is supposed to be your safe haven from nicotine.

The next thing you need to do is take note of whenever you feel particularly strong cigarette cravings. This way, you have a frame of reference for anytime you want to smoke so that you can more easily resist the temptation. The next thing you need to do is anything you can to take your stress level down. Many smokers, despite the fact that smoking raises the stress level, smoke to try and relieve stress. If you remove stress, you will not be as tempted to smoke.
