First, look for a problem that a lot of people have and provide a solution. Just because you want them to buy it does not mean they really want it.
Start your research by spying on the market place. Okay, you do not really have to become secret agent 007, but I do mean you have to see what others really want by watching them. One way is to lurk in the forums of the niche you pick to see what questions and problems the members are having. See what everyone is talking about that is hot or what is wrong with products or software they are using. This will give you an idea of what they want and are looking for.
The easiest way to find forums in your niche is to do a Google search with the niche name plus the word forum added to it. So if you picked "dog training" as your niche, then you would search "dog training forum." You will get a list of forums to check out. You may have to join the forum. If you do, this is usually free. Then, look through the forum categories and see what everyone is asking about. This will give you a good idea of what they are wanting and will spend money on.
#2. Pick the right niche. Picking a niche that people are hungry for is critical to becoming successful. You want a niche that people are willing to pull their wallets out for and will spend money in. The niche should have problems that people are desperate to have solved. Now, all you have to do is find a solution and then get in front of them with it. There should be a history of buying habits that prove this group of people will spend money in this niche. Make sure the niche has a large market. It is better to have a small share of a large market than a large share of a small market. This way when competition does come into the market, it will not wipe out your whole income since they will only be getting a small share of a huge market.
