subject: Chemical Products Market Trend [print this page]

Glyphosate: Glyphosate prices remained in the doldrums. In 2010, raw material price increases are leading to an obvious increase in glyphosate prices.

Salt: This week, the domestic salt market prices have risen, and it is expected that there is still further room for increases.

Ethylene Glycol: After the early rise this week, ethylene glycol prices saw a fall, and the situation of tight supply is a relief. It is expected that there will be slight adjustments in the short-term.

Phosphorus: Phosphorus saw a small rise this week, and overall continued to show rising trends, while it is expected to remain stable before the holiday.

Phosphoric Acid: The phosphoric acid market was stable this week, despite costs rising, while this also forced to lower the operating rate, it is expected that phosphoric acid prices will remain relatively stable.

Polyethylene: The polyethylene market, in response to crude oil prices and the approaching Spring Festival, will see most of the post- processing enterprises will gradually reduce the operating rate. It is expected that the pre-holiday market demand will be reduced, and the market will become stable.

Methanol: The domestic methanol market this week was largely stable, but has had a slight shock. With sluggish demand for downstream products, it is expected the market will remain relatively stable, as the market will remain on relatively low ebb.

Caustic Soda: The northern region has this week seen caustic soda prices rise, and it is expected that as the coal and electricity supply situation eases, caustic soda prices will begin to stabilize. Sulfuric Acid: This week sulfuric acid prices drops in south area are because of a general increase in pre-load of fertilizer production enterprises, which basically already met the Chinese demand for fertilizer in autumn. Judging from the current market situation, in Jiangsu and Hubei provinces, sulfuric acid prices appear to be rebounding.

Soda: This week, soda prices keep rising, mainly because of glass, textile and other industries stocking for the end of the Chinese year, hence, the market supply is tight. It is expected that in the short-term prices will remain high.

Titanium Dioxide: This week, titanium dioxide import volume increased by 27.9%, which hit the highest recorded increase. Due to the titanium dioxide production capacity expansion and the government's policy support, the next few years are expected to see China's titanium imports continue to grow significantly.
