subject: How To Install Great Mood Lighting Using New Ideas [print this page]

Many people who are redecorating or revamping their homes will often turn to lighting to enhance the work that they have done. But there is a way of having something a little different but unique in the home and that is in the form of iron chandeliers. An iron chandelier can be quite rustic in appearance but still have that touch of class that many aspire to especially in high ceiling rooms or hallways. Of course, this kind of lighting system is not only for country style homes or those with a 'log cabin' feel to the decoration. There are many ways in which this style can be utilized to give a truly wondrous effect no matter if it is in an apartment in the city, or perhaps in an old fashioned home somewhere in the suburbs.

Hanging lights really set off a room but they must have the headspace to allow for the drop or width of the piece. Indeed it is rumored that one light fitting in the White House fills up the headspace even though the ceilings are very high indeed! But having a metal hanging light fitting does not mean that it has to be heavy and industrious looking at all. There are many on the market that look particularly feminine and suit even the most delicate of interior designs. One such fitting is one that resembles a delicate bunch of tulips beautifully arranged and tied at the bottom. The lamp shades are made from hand blown glass and this truly looks beautiful when lit at night. This would be most suitable in a bedroom or hallway where the lady of the house is the dominant character.

Wrought light fittings also work well in many interior designs. These wonderfully designed works of art have some clever scrolling and twisted effects that looks particularly good when matched with candle like light fittings. The more elaborate can have a kind of gothic look about them so care should be taken when deciding on what is surrounding them.

Others have a look of the Spanish about them, particularly the ones built in to look like cartwheels. Chains hold up the whole thing to the ceiling and these would look wonderful hung over a beautiful hardwood table polished to perfection. Indeed, the curls and leaves used to decorate such light fittings really softens the overall effect to some degree so using them in places normally reserved for a more formal light fitting is very acceptable indeed. Surprising the onlooker is what a lot of interior designers like to do these days so giving this trick a try could bring great results in the end.

Finally, it does not really matter what light fittings are chosen to go in certain rooms. Finding something that fits in with, or is juxtaposed to, other items of furniture in a room is what brightens up the environment. There is no right or wrong when it comes to design and it is really down to the individual what they want to live with in their rooms. Being bold and innovative may be just the key!
